• SOCIAL ACTIVISM THROUGH THE ARTS PROGRAM – Grants of up to $5,000 CLICK HERE FOR PROJECT EXAMPLES
This program embraces all art forms and supports initiatives that serve to educate, create debate and awareness of the impact, on Australia, of nuclear testing, nuclear weapons, nuclear waste and its disposal.
In light of recent intolerance shown towards the Muslim community, another priority under this program is arts projects that encourage respect and understanding of our cultural diversity, particularly focusing on the rights of Australians of Middle-Eastern descent to maintain their cultural and religious practices. Projects should aim to further assist the wider community to understand and embrace the rich cultural diversity of all Australians.

Prospective applicants must provide a rationale for the project, a relevant abridged arts biography of participants, a brief strategy for publicising the project and examples of how the art form will be utilised in the project.Projects must occur in Australia.

• PROFESSIONAL AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – Grants of up to $3,000 CLICK HERE FOR PROJECT EXAMPLES
This program is open to musicians and technicians who wish to enhance their skill base or career choices by undertaking further study with a recognised practitioner of excellence. It is important that applicants include an abridged relevant biography, their vision of the benefits of their project, an abridged biography of the proposed practitioner and proof that they are able to be involved in the project.
This program can occur within Australia, or if the expertise exists only overseas, then in an international setting.

• INDIGENOUS TOURING PROGRAM – Grants of up to $5,000 CLICK HERE FOR PROJECT EXAMPLES
This program is open to Indigenous musicians with recorded product who wish to engage a broader audience. The proposed tour may be regional, involving remote or non-urban communities, or could embrace a more extensive itinerary of festivals, concerts and events.
Applicants need to provide a copy of their CD, an abridged biography of the performers, a vision of what they hope to achieve by touring and three (3) expressions of interests from host organizations or event/festival organisers.
Please note that they only need to be expressions of interest, not contracted bookings. Projects must occur in Australia.

• PUBLICITY / MARKETING PROGRAM - 3 opportunities available
Valued at approximately $6,000 per successful applicant, this program offers musicians with recorded product who are organising a tour (encompassing more than one state), assistance from an experienced publicist and a radio promoter who are well established in the Australian music industry appointed by The JB Seed. The support will include advice on promotional material and the implementation of a publicity strategy that includes a customised print and radio advertising campaign.
Applicants need to provide a copy of their CD, an abridged biography of the performers, copies of promotional material and a vision of what you hope to achieve by utilising a professional team to promote the activity they wish to publicise.Projects must occur in Australia.

• THE JB SEED INITIATIVE: MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP – 10 opportunities available

The JB Seed Initiative: Management Workshop addresses the lack of practical strategies and their implementation when managing a band or performer in the establishment phase of their career.

This workshop brings together a group of significant professionals in the music industry, including managers, record distributors, radio promoters, publicists, lawyers, grant writers and successful artists to share their knowledge and offer strategic advice on ways to enhance performers’ opportunities in the music industry.

The JB Seed Initiative: Management Workshop will be delivered in a three - four day intensive workshop format, complemented by customised personal advice.

It is open to managers, band members who are managing themselves, and established arts workers who are considering arts management as a serious career option.

The program will assist successful applicants with transport to and from the workshop, accommodation and food. Each applicant would be expected to include information about their employment/further education history for the last 5 years, a copy of the recording of the artists they manage, copies of any recent publicity produced for the artists, a vision statement as to their career aspirations and a letter from the artists confirming the applicant’s role in their career.
