The JB Seed is officially five years old! And to celebrate, this years grants will offer greater diversity and make the program more accessible for artists across a wider range of disciplines.
The JB Seed aims to help Australian artists from any background, creating art and music across any genre, to establish themselves as self-sustained, professional artists. Over the past five years, with the help of a bunch of like minded music loving folk they've been extremely proud to hand out over $400,000 to incredibly talented, motivated and original artists who could do with some financial support. It’s been an honour to give these people a helping hand. This year we have announced two brand new categories that will join two mainstays of the JB Seed.

Roll up, Roll up, Roll up! |
|
We here at The JB Seed are proud to announce our 2009 round of funding, another list of fine artists who we are fortunate enough to be able to support...
Also, check out our amazing list of donors who have made contributions to these individuals and made the projects possible. Without them all of these opportunities would not exist.

One Movement For Music Festival - Perth |
BREAKING NEWS... for The JB Seed For the first time this year, The JB Seed, in partnership with the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) and One Movement for Music Festival (OMMP) have created an brand new initiative to support emerging managers, and their artists to progress to the next level of their careers.
10 stand out previous JB Seed Management workshop attendees will be awarded the opportunity to take part in One Movement - The Independent Times summit. Winners will receive complimentary registration (providing them with access to the music festival, networking cocktail parties and private industry showcases), and a contribution towards their travel and accommodation costs. The event will take place in and around Perth city.
It's an amazing opportunity to expand your management horizons and have a damned good time while you're at it!
On the final day of the summit participants will be invited to take part in an evolution session where we will look at the previous days events. We see this as an integral part of the process in the first year to gain an insight so that this partnership can evolve and be as effective as possible for newly established managers.
The One Movement event is set to take place: Friday 16th, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2009.
Danielle Caruana, Director and Co-Founder of The JB Seed has said about the partnership: “This is a great opportunity to expand what we offer at the Management Workshops. With the Asia/Pacific focus of One Movement, this partnership will increase the scope of information we are able to make available to newly established managers in the industry”.
